Rule of thumb
If I really, really like it, they'll take it off the market.
There are some exceptions to this rule; but then, some rules ought to be broken.

Note: It is true that I can still enjoy what we manged to record of the TV shows (and what's available to buy); however, it's not quite the same as being able to see new installments. By the same token, we have some chocolate peanut butter left, but it can only last so long.
